Cold and Hot

For science Tessa did an experiment where she had ice cold water in one bucket, lukewarm in the middle, and hot in the on the other end. She she put her hands in the hot and cold water. One hand in each for 30 seconds. She couldn't help but squeal because the ice cold water was very cold. She felt like she was getting hypothermia on that hand. Then she moved both hands to the lukewarm water in the middle. She noticed that the hand that was in the cold water felt warm and the hand that had been in the hot water felt cold. This helped her to understand how our brain senses temperature.
