Algebra 2 Week 22

We started the car project today. The videos explanations are on YouTube now. It would be wise of you to do your spreadsheets very soon. Even if you don’t have a price for your car you can make the spreadsheets with a fake price and substitute yours in later. The calendar changed this week. We didn’t have a lesson for 8.8, you can substitute working on your Car Project for that lesson. There is a review and test this week. We took a Formula Madness quiz in class today. This was the last of the level 3 quizzes. There is no FM quiz to take at home this week. I will be giving you level 4 next week to start practicing. There will be no class next week we are having break. This will give you time to work on your car project. The video for section 8.7 is posted on YouTube and on my blog. Algebra 2 Week 16

Yesterday was a small class.  We started the semester running. We are going to spend the next 2 weeks finishing up Unit 6. All of Unit 6 will be covered on the final exam for second Semester. You have been describing the graph of a polynomials. It is like you are learning how to be detectives for polynomials. You are learning ways to detect attributes of the polynomials by looking at its equation. You also added to our formula madness formulas. Please just practice the new items, you will not have a quiz over these until week 18.  We have 3 lessons and a quiz this week. Please text me any questions you have. I truly want to help.

Algebra 2 Week 15

Yesterday was the last day of Algebra for 2019. I am so proud of the progress these students have made. In class we went over problems that will be on the semester final. I want to remind all of you that the final exam is worth 200 points. There is an optional memory verse worth 10 extra credit points. Don’t forget that there is one more formula madness quiz also. After you have taken the test you have several options. You could mail it to me, you could bring it to me, or you could keep it until the next class. Speaking of the next class, I plan on starting up January 6, 2020. There is no extra supplies needed for the second semester. I have so enjoyed teaching everyone this subject. I pray that each of you has a Merry Christmas. Please let me know what I can do to help you finish up first semester Algebra 2.

Algebra Week 14

Today we had our last class with notes and explanations. Next week we will be studying for our final exam. We covered 3 lessons today. We started learning about polynomials and how to add, subtract, multiply and the beginnings of graphing them. Don’t forget to learn your memory verse so that you can get extra credit on the final exam. I also want to remind you that the reason that your lessons are longer this week is because we started studying for your final exam. I have provided problems from the beginning of the school year. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I really want to help.

Algebra 2 Week 13

Everyone was in class and having fun. I know that each of you don’t like the work, but you give me the impression you at least don’t mind doing your work together in class. We seem to smile often as we do our work. Each of you are working hard in this class and I want to let you know that I appreciate it. We looked over the calendar and we are following it as printed. There will NOT be class next Monday. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Yesterday we covered 2 topics and the videos are almost uploaded to Youtube. The reason we only had 2 topics is because we have a test this week. Please don’t forget to take the formula madness quiz that is assigned also. After you read this please press the heart at the side for extra credit. Your parent can click the heart for you and you will receive extra credit. If you have questions please take a picture of your work or the problem or tell me the problem number, and text it to me. You can also send it through GroupMe if you like. Please remember that you are not bothering me with your questions. You may need to wait for a response, but it is not a trouble for you to ask me questions.

Algebra 2 Week 12

Yesterday we covered 3 sections in our unit on Quadratic Equations. We are exploring methods to solve and graph them. This week don’t forget to take the formula madness quiz at home and bring it to class to turn in. Just follow the calendar for the rest of your assignments. Thanks for your hard work. We have 3 more classes before Christmas break. Keep working hard the time for a break is soon and then you can relax.

Algebra 2 Week 11

Yesterday we had 3 topics to cover in class. This meant we needed to be very attentive to finish on time. We continued our graphing of parabolas, and started solving quadratic equations. We took our first formula madness in class and graded it so that each student can see what must be done to improve. Continue to practice for your formula madness quiz. You will print out the next one and take it at home. The video for the week is almost ready. It will be on YouTube by tomorrow morning. Let me know if you have any questions.
