Why We Homeschool

  1. The verse "Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6 NASB) We believe this verse is meant for parents.
  2. The verse "Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth." (Deuteronomy 11:18-21 NIV) Because of this verse we want to choose the curriculum that is taught to our children.
  3. We get to spend more time at home with our children.
  4. We believe that adults are a better influence on our children then other children are.
  5. It allowed us to have more scheduling freedom since we travel often.
  6. Spending time with only one age group does not give a child the diverse education as they deserve. Home schooling gives our children the opportunity to interact with multiple age groups on a more regular basis.
